Surveillance Station Full screen surveillance with Linux Mint

How can I establish best a full screen surveillance with Linux Mint for my Foscam camera? The camera is recognized by the Synology Surveillance Station and I just wnt to have a 24/7 view of the camera stream.

I don't quite understand your question. What do you understand by "full screen surveillance"? There's no Linux client for SS - at least not that I know of - so you'll have to use some other application on Linux (Mint) to display the RTSP stream from your camera. The simplest solution is a browser, or for example, VLC. Of course, you'll only see the RTSP live stream and not any notifications from SS or anything like that.

I use VLC, for instance, to display the live stream from my Dahua cameras on my Mint desktop.



Alternatively, you could of course try whether and how well the SS Windows client works under Mint via Wine. I've never tested that myself because I haven't used SS and Windows for a long time.

Cuurently I try with rtsp-streaming via mpv (VLC obviously does not work with my FOSCAM camera) . mpv works but I am not quite sure if this is stable enough for 24/7. Therefore I considered something like a web view "into" my Synology Surveillance Station which runs very stable.
