Vermutlich ist der eine Mitarbeiter, der die copy'n'paste Rückantworten per E-Mail verschickt total überfordert und im Hinblick auf die (vermutlich) sinkenden Einnahmeerwartungen können sie sich keinen zweiten mehr leisten...

Absoluter Wahnsinn, was Synology da aktuell veranstaltet. Wir reden hier ja nicht über einen Schmuckhersteller, es geht um Datenspeicher und Datensicherheit. Nun wird der Hersteller selbst zum Risiko, das ist erbärmlich. Die Aussage: Wenn Deine DS kaputt geht, kannst Du Deine Platten in ein neues Gerät migrieren, gilt für Plus-Geräte ab der 2025-Generation nur noch für die Migration selbst. Sobald man den migrierten Speicherpool erweitern oder reparieren will/muss, ist dies mit nicht zertifizierten Platten nicht mehr möglich.

Ich sehe das ähnlich.

Was mich persönlich auch weiter an der Zuverlässigkeit von Synology zweifeln lässt, ist die Tatsache, dass Synology jahrelang aufgrund einer Koorperation Seagate gepushed hat und damit geworben hat, dass Seagate Platten und Synology gut zusammen arbeiten und nun das nun 2025 über den Haufen werfen.

@Iarn: hier meine Antwort, den Seitenhieb mit DSM habe ich mir aber verkniffen (auch wenn ich den Einwand gut fand ).

Thank you again for your feedback.

At the time of my reply, the reports and events continue to roll over on the Internet and the displeasure in the communities is increasing.
On the nascompares.com channel, the currently pending changes were tested via the (alleged) possibilities - on the part of Synology (unverified HDD/SSD with or without DSM).

To jokingly quote a contribution as a result: The surface of the storage manager looked as if it had lost the battle against a paintball team with orange and red-coloured bullets.

And not only that, but also the confidence that a data transfer from an old DSM system to a 2025 Plus model would work without a hitch with so many hints, warnings and impossibilities.

Until now, Synology has stood for the security and stability of my data. This has also worked wonderfully with third-party hard drives (NAS HDD provided, for example WD RED Plus or Seagate Iron Wolf). At the moment, however, I feel that Synology's company policy is forcing me to buy overpriced drives for no reason.

I can only hope that Synology will reconsider this step and at least give a signal in the direction of extended HDD compatibility.

In Australia 1 store has the diskless DS925+ listed as "Only Works with Synology Branded HDD/SSD" which is actually incorrect because 3rd part SSDs work. But they have the DS925+ available with a Synology HDD and there's no mention of"Only Works with Synology Branded HDD/SSD".



Yet other stores don't even mention the drive compatibility issue.

Scheinbar scheint ein Preispoker bei den Vorbestellungen für die DS925+ zu beginnen.

c.t.n.-Systeme wollte heute morgen noch 653€, mit Amazon als einzigem Mitbewerber (unverändert bei 909€). Jetzt, 10:32 Uhr, sind sie schon wieder teurer und NBB kommt ins Spiel.

Die offizielle Beschränkung auf Synology-eigene Festplatten ist nervig, obwohl ich selbst zwei HAT3300 benutze.

Mein Grund dafür Synology nicht mehr wirklich benutzen zu wollen ist eher die Software. Python 2.7 ist immer noch in Benutzung. Synology Office und Drive nutzen gerne mal unterschiedliche Versionen von Node.js, Docker ist hoffnungslos veraltet, obwohl gerade aktualisiert.

Allerdings bin ich auch gerade sehr froh, dass alles läuft und ich es einfach laufen lassen kann.

Die DS925+ hat also den Port für das optionale 10 GB LAN verloren, aber bei der DS1525+ bleibt der. Interessant.

Aber dafür fehlen jetzt zwei 1 GB LAN Ports. Die DS1522+ hatte noch 4 LAN Ports, die DS1525+ hat nur noch zwei. Synology schafft es auch immer wieder es zu versauen.

Gerade die 4 LAN Ports waren für mich ein entscheidender Punkt für eine 1522+ statt einer 923+...
So wurden beide Geräte netzwerktechnisch zwar auf 2.5 GB LAN angehoben, aber von der Anzahl der maximalen Ports her verschlechtert.

Ergänzend: Selbst die DS1825+ hat nur noch zwei 2,5GbE-Ports. Und einen USB-Port hat sie im Vergleich zur DS1821+ auch eingebüßt.
