Compatibility & Installation

1. Virtual Machine Manager 2.8.0 Beta can only be installed on DSM 7.3 and above.

What's New

1. Supports running Windows Server 2025 on virtual machines.
2. Supports running Ubuntu 24.04.3 on virtual machines.
3. Updated QEMU version to 8.1.5.
4. Updated libvirt version to 10.1.0.
5. Updated BIOS and UEFI firmware.
6. Supports scheduled export of .ova files for virtual machines.
7. Supports power scheduling for virtual machines.
8. Supports VNC clipboard.
9. Supports synchronizing time with the hosts after virtual machines restart or resume.

Fixed Issues

1. Adjusted the default resolution to 1280 × 800 for the Windows 10 and 11 virtual machines installed with UEFI.
2. Fixed the issue where the virtual machines could not shut down when the VNC port was in use by another service.
3. Fixed an issue where virtual machines running Windows 11 24H2 might fail to power on.
4. Minor bug fixes.

Endlich wurde das Beta Update auch mal im Paket Zentrum angeboten.
Die Installation verlief problemlos.
Etwas peinlich finde ich persönlich, dass QEMU auf den Stand von 2023 aktualisiert wurde.
Ich habe gleich mal den geplanten Export im laufenden Betrieb einer Win11-25H2-VM erfolgreich getestet.
Das geht zwar auch schon länger über den Aufgabenplaner, aber schön dass sie das jetzt in der UI umgesetzt haben.
