DS918+ startet nicht mehr und gibt keine serielle Ausgabe

The Insyde is empty on both of mine as well. But the EFI folder contains:

SynoBootLoader.conf and SynoBootLoader.efi are different on both my Synology NAS that use efi.

Your missing SynoBootLoader.conf would probably look like this:

Someone with a DS918+ (or DS1019+ or DS718+) could give you a copy of their synoboot1
sudo dd if=/dev/synoboot1 of=/volume1/MYSHAREDFOLDER/synoboot1.img

They'd need to change "MYSHAREDFOLDER" to a shared folder on their DS918+.

copy 4 files from the original firmware package

Partition 1 (synoboot1) contains boot files from the DSM version that the NAS originally arrived with. Which would be DSM 6.1.3-15152 for a DS918+ (although I suspect files from any later version would work.

Partition 2 (synoboot2) contains boot files from the currently installed DSM version (and should be the same or newer than what is installed on your HDDs, if you don't want to lose your data).

The one I provided I edited a DS718+ SynoBootLoader.conf to suit a DS918+ and I'm not sure mine is 100% correct.

Danke schon mal für die Files. Habe mit mittlerweile schon eine baugleiche DS 918+ besorgt weil es bei Synology leider keinen Support gibt. Habe also jetzt alle original Files und die vom Forum. Die packe ich nun auf den Stick via https://www.alexpage.de/usb-image-tool/ und dann gebe ich den Syn Flash Speicher raus und dann bootet das Teil wieder? Gibt es alternativ auch die Möglichkeit die Daten direkt wieder auf den Flash zu bekommen oder geht das in Zukunft dann nur mehr über den Stick? https://www.ebay.de/itm/293341706464

Rather than risk inserting the wrong wire into the wrong socket hole I got a small 9-pin one of these. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003736153171.html

You need the small 9-pin version to fit the Synology's USB DOM.

Once you connect it to your computer I'd make a backup image of what's currently on the USB DOM.

Sorry. I did mention "small 9-pin" but I did not make it clear.

That AliExpress page has a choice of large 9-pin or small 9-pin. You need the small 9-pin one. If I remember correctly you have to include a comment to the seller that you want the small pin version.
