Weiss ich und da steht 108TB wie ich schon schrieb.

In diesem Thread wude ja auch erwähnt dass auch nicht offiziell HW 200TB unterstützt wenn 32GB reingesteckt werden. Deshalb meine Frage ob das vielleicht auch auf die DS1821+ zutrifft und jemand dazu Erfahrungswerte hat.

Den btrfs-Overhead kannst Du m.E. nicht herausrechnen. Vielleicht kann @DaveR Deine eigentliche Frage beantworten.

Edit: Man muss aber m.W. mit TiB rechnen. Eine 20TB Platte hat etwa 18,19TiB. Damit liegst Du mit gut 109TiB immer noch knapp über den 108TiB, aber das eine 1TiB lässt sich vielleicht verschmerzen.

Die meisten, wenn nicht sogar alle Angaben auf der Seite stammen ja aus der Zeit der Produktveröffentlichung. Da hat es damals vl. nur max. 16 GB gegeben? Siehe typisches Beispiel: Kompatibilität der Festplatten.

Yes it does. Many people on reddit with 32GB have discovered that it supports more than 108TB.

I already noticed you're busy on Reddit Looks like It's worth to check Reddit before I ask a question here. Frankly I wasn't aware Reddit is also a great source for Synology questions as this forum is.

That's a valid point and that's the reason I asked for any experiences users have Fortunately @DaveR is active on Reddit and linked to Reddit threads of users who detected the Synology specs are inaccurate and outdated.

Wenn jemand schreibt dass er etwas erfolgreich kann und das sogar mit Screenshots belegt ist das wohl kein Käse. Aber klar - man sollte immer die Kompetenz des Schreibenden im Hinterkopf haben.

Ich mein ja nur . Ich bin schon ne weile nimmer auf reddit unterwegs. da hast es so oft gehabt das leute erzählt haben was alles geht und was sie schon gemacht haben.
Aber am Ende war es nur mumpitz.


Na und am Ende kannst ja immernoch mehrere Volumes erstellen .

Der Threadtitel passt mittlerweile nicht mehr ganz. Es geht jetzt auch um die Entscheidung ob DS1823xs+ oder DS1821+ und pros und cons. Die DS1823xs+ ist um Vielfaches teurer als die DS1821+ und ich suche noch warum eigentlich. Die fehlende 10GB Verbindung kann man nachrüsten. Ansonsten sehe ich nichts was für eine DS1832xs+ spricht.

Es gibt ein YT Video was auch sehr gut erklärt warum es eigentlich keinen Sinn macht eine DS1823xs+ zu kaufen - ausser man hat heavy VM Load.

I just subscribed on /r/synology and I'm glad you're the moderator. But I see given the amount of comments it's impossible to keep the herd in check.

I heard it's quite rude sometimes on Reddit. That's why I don't visit Reddit on a daily base. I prefer the friendly appoach in this forum like you

It can be. But myself and the other moderators on r/synology delete disrespectful comments, and warn the user if they'll get banned if they do it again. The other users report abusive or disrespectful comments to the moderators.

Vorteile einer DS1823xs+ sind die flottere CPU und in meinen Augen das OOB .
Gerade das OOB würde ich mir echt bei mehr modellen wünschen.
Aber ja der Mehrpreis von gut 600 € ist schon ne Hausnummer.

I executed some queries on the DS1821+ and found threads written in German only. Looks like it depends on the moderator. But anyhow I agree. You should use English whenever you create a thread on Reddit: Then you have much more folks who can read your thread and reply.

Für die DS1823xs+ lässt Synology nur die eigenen Platten zu.
Bei der kannst DS1821+ dürfen aus auch andere sein. Selbst M.2 SSDs von WD laufen in ihr ohne Klimmzüge mit Scripts.
