Owncloud - cant start

Hi guys,

I've installed owncloud on my synology but I can't start it, because I get the following error:
Data directory (/volume1/owncloud) is invalid
Please check that the data directory contains a file ".ocdata" in its root.


Does anybody have a solution for this?

Which version?
Community package or official version from owncloud website?
Data directory usually is 'data' inside the owncloud folder.

I've tried the one from official community package. (so it should be 6 I guess)
Should I try from website?

I recommend the official 7.0.2, yes. Try the web installer, it's the easiest way.

In case a new installation does not help you might try to create a file named .ocdata in the data directory. Just an empty file with the correct owner should do the trick.

I would like to use the webinstaller, but where do I have to copy this?
What means "webspace", where is it?

The webspace is on your DS.
Just put the file in the folder 'web' on /volume1 and change owner/group to 'http' (the user-apache uses this). Then start with

http://IP_of_the_DS/[COLOR=#1D2D44][FONT=monospace]setup-owncloud.php
[/FONT][/COLOR]

You should also make a folder 'owncloud' as subfolder of 'web' - this is the target for the installation.
