DS218+ 2 HD im Raid 0 in DX213 einbauen

Hallo,

ist es möglich ein Raid 0 (2 HDD´s ) von einer DS218+ in ein vorhandenes DX213 einzubauen und nach Einbau neuer HDD´s bzw. SSD´s in die DS218+ (Neuinstallation DSM) auf die Daten des Raid0 im DX213 zuzugreifen (Zusätzliches externes Backup ist auf einer DS214Play vorhanden - zur Sicherheit )

Are you sure that the DX213 works with a DS218+? Officially the DS218+ only supports the DX517.

You could access your data on drives in the expansion unit, after you let storage manager do a drive migration.

Works since 4-5 years without any issue out of the box. The question is, if i remove the HDD´s 218+ and move them to DX213 and afterwards use two SSD as main drive on the DS218+ (fresh install) if the "old" Raid0 works on DX213 -- access to the data ?

Yes.

1. Shutdown the NAS and expansion unit before moving the drives.
2. Disconnect the eSATA cable.
3. Boot the NAS and install/setup DSM on the SSDs.
4. Connect the eSATA cable and turn on the expansion unit.
5. Let DSM do a drive migration on the drives in the expansion unit.
