DDNS Updater DDNS & zoneedit.com problem

for about a week ddns could not connect to dynamic.zoneedit.com

i think that this happened after i updated perl.

Please help.

DS210j and DSM 5.00-4458 update 2.

Which DDNS you mean, Synology or DDNS updater? What is the error message... sorry, but with such little info we cannot help you.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Of course is DDNS updater.
The message is : FAILED to update xxx.eu. Could not connect to dynamic.zoneedit.com

It seems that dynamic.zoneedit.com allowed the access only via SSL at the time, which is also new to me. You must install ipkg + packages perl + perl-IO-Socket-SSL to use ssl, Synology perl does not provide ssl sockets.

thanks for the help but unfortunately after installing ipkg + packages perl + perl-IO-Socket-SSL the "Use SSL for Updates" is unchecked and greyed out.
So zoneedit still does not work.

I have found a small bug that occurred to me only with DSM 5. Look at package center today late evening for a update.

Unfortunatly it still does not work for me.
I can choose "use SSL" so I think everything is in place (pkg + packages perl + perl-IO-Socket-SSL) but the error remains "

I saw Synology`s DDNS went bad, Synology stating it is because of a change at zoneedit:

Works again
Did update to latest DSM 2 days ago. After restarting my box I today started DDSN Updater (did not autostart) and it published IP successfully.
No clue for what reasons it works now - I am not aware me doing something special.

Funktioniert bei euch noch das Updaten von zoneedit mit ddns updater?
5.0-4493 Update 5

Zoneedit hatte am Wochenende einen Switch auf einen neuen Eigentümer, mag daran liegen.
Hab aber auch die Syno von Update 3 auf Update 5 gebracht.

Scheint eigentlich alles zu starten - beim aktualisieren per DDNS steht dann im Log von DDNS Updater:
updating xxxxxx.de: no response from dynamic.zoneedit.com

Update: Das Problem lag offenbar auf Seiten Zoneedit - heute früh ist eine Aktualisierung wieder möglich - hab selber nichts weiter geändert.
