Anyone here know javascript and Chrome's manifest v3 requirements?

I'm trying to update my Synology Download Station Chrome Extension to manifest v3 but having a really hard time.

I've spent 1 day with ChatGPT and 2 days with Claude trying to get it working and it's driving me crazy. Sometimes I feel like Claude is messing with me by deliberately missing things. It's always 2 steps forward then 1 step backwards.

Me and the stupid AIs have got this far:

• It loads without errors.
• I can edit and save the settings.
• I can connect to Download Station with the "Test connection" button.

But instead of this (from my old manifest v2 version)

After another 6 hours chatting with Claude I've got the "Settings", "Add task" and "Open Download Station" buttons working in the popup.

After 3 and half days of this I'm exhausted. I wonder if it would have quicker to learn javascript

I've made it show the newest 100 downloads. The original extension always annoyed me that it only showed the oldest 100 downloads.
