Nobody really knows how many spare flash blocks a Samsung 870 EVO has. People say "100s" of failed flash blocks which I take to mean more than 200. But other people say 1, 2 or 3 is acceptable on an SSD that has reached it's TBW limit. Data Recovery Services have mentioned 870 EVO SSDs dying...

    Löschen verursacht schreibgeschützte Volume

@knilch Can you try v1.4.35 as it should decode the raw attributes 1 and 7 for you. Added decoding of Seagate and Synology HAT3300 HDD SMART raw attributes 1, 7 and 195 when DSM only has smartctl 6.5 and script run in default mode.

    Löschen verursacht schreibgeschützte Volume

Okay, I need to look at why the Seagate SMART values for 1 and 7 are not being decoded. EDIT I found the problem. With smartctl 6 the script is only decoding Seagate SMART values 1, 7, 195 and 240 when the -a or --all options is used. I forgot to decode them in the default "only show important...

    Löschen verursacht schreibgeschützte Volume

Looks like you used an older version of the syno_smart_info script because it did not decode the raw values for attributes 1 and 7. v1.4.34 Added decoding of Seagate and Synology HAT3300 HDD SMART raw attributes 1, 7, 195 and 240 when DSM only has smartctl 6.5. See...

    SMART-Werte auslesen und interpretieren

"Raw data = 0" for raw data that should be 0 is good. For 177 you want to look at the Wert and not the raw value. Wear levelling count equates to percentage of life left. Your 177 Wert is 099 which means 99% life left. The Rohdaten of 3 means the drive has performed 3 Program/Erase (P/E)...

DS1621xs+ verweigert nach Firmware-Update die Installation

Do you mean in models that have bios.ROM the DSM pat file always contains bios.ROM. Or that all model's DSM pat file contains bios.ROM? Because out the 121 models that can use DSM 7.3.1: Only 94 have bios.ROM (and grub) in the DSM pat file. 7 of those 94 models also have SynoBootLoader.efi The...

DS1621xs+ verweigert nach Firmware-Update die Installation

Interesting. I just compared the 7.2 bios.ROM to 7.3.1 and they are also the same. I think it's safe to assume that each model that has bios.ROM always has the same bios.ROM

Did you click on the refresh button?

Synology DS224+, Fragen von einem Neueinsteiger

WinSCP does not automatically refresh the folder or file list So you need to click the Refresh button to see any changes.

Synology DS224+, Fragen von einem Neueinsteiger

The Jellyfin package saves it's config and cache in /var/packages/jellyfin/var Hyper Backup does not backup the Jellyfin package. But my https://github.com/007revad/Synology_app_mover script can. It doesn't do versioning but you could create say 4 schedules to backup Jellyfin to 4 different...

By my math the drives are waking up every 16 minutes.

    DSM 7.3 Neue Version 7.3.2 – 86009

That knowledge base article looks like the "TRIM and RAID data integrity" section was stolen from somewhere online because Synology don't offer RAID TP. Since onl parity RAID types are affected by SSDs using Method 2 TRIM maybe DSM should allow TRIM for RAID 1 and RAID 10 (instead of just...

    DS212+ Migration auf DS223

Your SMART values look fine to me. RAID is not a backup because bad things can happen that destroy all the data or both drives or the whole NAS like: Accidentally deleting a file or folder or volume. Ransomware. Someone steals your NAS. Fire, flood, earthquake or war etc destroys the NAS...

Synology DS224+, Fragen von einem Neueinsteiger

    Via SSH this will list which services are using which ports. for s in /usr/local/etc/services.d/*; do [ -f "$s" ] && echo -e "-----\n$s" && cat "$s" && echo -e "\n"; done

Synology DS224+, Fragen von einem Neueinsteiger

At this point I would suggest adding synocommunity to Package Center. Do the 3 steps under Easy Install here: https://synocommunity.com/#easy-install Then install the Jellyfin package (instead of using jellyfin in docker).

    Video Station - Welche Alternative?

Worst case scenario is the Video Station package won't run or won't install. Installing Video Station via the script can't brick DSM.

    DSM 7.3 Neue Version 7.3.2 – 86009

TRIM is in the category of "some features may not be available if your drives are not in the compatible drive list" that was mentioned in the original version of the 25 plus series Drive compatibility policies document. That comment seemed to infer SSD TRIM, firmware updates, SMART info etc...

    DSM 7.3 Neue Version 7.3.2 – 86009

@shardsofwar Personally I would just schedule syno_hdd_db to run as root at boot up and get back to using your NAS with TRIM enabled. To schedule it see https://github.com/007revad/Synology_HDD_db/blob/main/how_to_schedule.md
