@jahlives Well, just the host name ("Basalt" :)) does work for me... Note that I do not (need to) access my Syno externally, other than for webmail. Anyway, I think "synology.me" is the default choice. @tuwok Did you change the domain name now ? /Erik -

You will need putty on your PC and connect with SSH, login as root and you will get the linux command prompt. Enter command `more /var/log/messages` (without the quotes). However, I understand that you are not familiar to this matter. Better start in DSM then: "Resource Monitor" -> tab... -

Re-reading the first post: Roundcube is complaining that it cannot connect to the IMAP server (Dovecot). Both (should) run on your Syno, looks like the IMAP Server is not. Did you already restart your Syno ? Any relevant messages in /var/log/messages ? Erik. -

Maybe kicking in an open door: First try fetching e-mail with your PC, without using Syno at all. If this works properly, use same settings on your Syno. /Erik. -

So I understand you configured Outlook to send e-mails using SMTP, directly to some external mail server (not via the Synology SMTP Relay). In that case, your Syno is not involved in sending e-mails at all, or? What queue (Warteschlange) are you referring to then? /Erik -

Hello Bulle, Appearently you are trying to send an e-mail via the SMTP Relay of DynDNS. AFAIK this can only be done with a paid account. The usual way to send e-mail is using your ISP's relay. Best regards, Erik. -

One nice addition is using the Syno as SMTP relay. This way, you define the SMTP login details of your ISP on the Syno only. The Thunderbird clients just have to know the SMTP details of the Syno. Safer and easier to configure. For the rest: I like your manual and picture a lot !! Best... -

I can confirm that this works. I used to have all my e-mails in Outlook and moved them to my Syno, as described by jahlives. Now everything is on my Syno, accessible for multiple e-mail clients :) /Erik
