Looks like a bug to me, maybe Synology uses an alogrithm to adjust clock speed based on (older?) ntp info ? I would submit a support ticket to Synology. They don't reply very fast, by hey, what is time when you gain 149 seconds that many times a day :) Best regards, Erik.

Meine DS ist zu schnell für Dovecot

I assume you mean "killall ntpd" ? Did you check with "ps|grep ntp" if all processes were killed indeed ? ...and did not came alive after some time  Erik.

    einfach nur relayen ...

I suggest you (double) check if same smtp settings work directly from PC (outlook, thunderbird) to external smtp server. Sending from syno should be the same. Erik

Mail Server HOWTO E-MAILS EINSAMMELN Mailstation/Mailserver - Thunderbird

Good to hear your e-mail is running again. I realise that I was not too informative about the exact purpose and usage of the scripts, I am short on time as well. There is a function in to start/stop fetchmail, that's actually what you were looking for. But now your e-mail is stable again without...

Mail Server HOWTO E-MAILS EINSAMMELN Mailstation/Mailserver - Thunderbird

I am using a daemon script that monitors if e-mail clients are active, and starts/stops some mail processes accordingly. This way, the syno can hibernate during the quiet hours. You can use this, or parts out of it, to suit your needs. Note: I did not test it on 4.2 yet BR, Erik

    I don't have it either

Fehlermeldung beim anmelden nach Update der Mail Station

E-mails are saved in the user home folders. Re-installing the DSM software should not erase this, but better safe than sorry. You will need to backup anyway on a regular basis :) Erik PS: I would have appreciated if you did give feedback on my previous post. Goodbye.

Mailstation und die Ordner "Gesendet" und "Papierkorb" auf dem Client

I have the same with Thunderbird. I guess this has to do with different language settings on Syno and PC. In Thunderbird you can change the IMAP names as well. Till now, I did not take the time to fix this in either way. Erik

Fehlermeldung beim anmelden nach Update der Mail Station

Strange. Please double check if you are running the latest Mail Station version, AND if this package is suitable for your DS212+ To be sure, turn off hibernation, Syno will not sleep with pop3 running anyway. Next, if still not working, I suggest you to contact Synology support once again. I...

    LDAP LDAP Adressbuch mit Thunderbird?

I am looking for a easy Windows program (not php or something) to create/update/delete LDAP contacts to use in TB. All family members should be able to use it. Any recommendation? Erik.

Time Backup auf externe HDD sicher vor fremden Zugriff?

Ah, it was called autorun (not play) Have a look here: http://http://www.synology-forum.de/showthread.html?18360-Autorun-f%FCr-ext.-Datentr%E4ger Looks promising, still supported by the author :) Erik.

Meine DS ist zu schnell für Dovecot

I use the standard NTP from DSM, think it is part of the Local settings (cannot access my Syno from where I am). On that window, you can enter the url of the NTP (-pool) and a button to perform a manual sync. Looks like this is something different than the IPKG you are using, do you (still) need...

    Mail Station 2 und Client

We are on the same page. Usually, your mail client (like TB) will keep a copy of your mail folders locally (eg on yr pc). This is 2-way: sent mails are also copied from pc to Syno. Nevertheless, I do agree that sending via Syno is better. Step 1: make it work directly (not via Syno) from your...

Time Backup auf externe HDD sicher vor fremden Zugriff?

I don't think TimeBackup is primairily intended for making full backups, the web-based interface allows you to select one individual file (or folder?) only. Additionaly, when you have to reinstall your Syno, restoring TimeBackup data can only be done manually . So instead I would...

Mail Server HOWTO E-MAILS EINSAMMELN Mailstation/Mailserver - Thunderbird

Did you perform a manual NTP sync? When receiving e-mails has stopped, is fetchmail still running? Erik.

Meine DS ist zu schnell für Dovecot

My Syno also runs too fast, but "only" 1...2 secs/hour (depending of the cpu load ?). Dovecot does not die because of that. Do you use a reliable/stable/local NTP server? It is also recommended to perform one manual sync after you entered the url. BR, Erik

Mail Server HOWTO E-MAILS EINSAMMELN Mailstation/Mailserver - Thunderbird

You know about the NTP issue? About crontab: no, with Mail Station the poll frequency is passed to the fetchmail daemon. I guess that when NTP moves the time (forward?), fetchmail may miss its trigger.

    Mail Station 2 und Client

You don't have to send via your Syno to save the e-mails in the Sent folder, since all your Mail client folders will be synced anyway (incl Sent). However, if you do send via your Syno, advantage is that you only need to configure the login details once in the SMTP Relay section. I suggest using...
