Jellyfin auf anderes Volume umziehen

Okay, I have only 1 library setup named Movies, and /volume1/@appdata/jellyfin/data/root/default/Movies/ contains 2 files that contain volume1.

1. Movies1.mblink contains /volume1/video/Movies
2. options.xml contains <Path>/volume1/video/Movies</Path>

I originally had my video shared folder on volume2 and looking in /volume1/@appdata/jellyfin/data/data/jellyfin.db I see lots of entries for volume2.

Hmm, 2 days ago when I moved jellyfin from volume 2 to volume 1 everything still. worked. Just now I noticed that jellyfin and FFmpeg7 were stopped. After starting the jellyfin home page now says:


When I clicked on "Would you like to create one now?" I got:


Clicking on "Scan All Libraries" goes from 0 to 100% but the home page still says I have no Libraries.

So I uninstalled jellyfin then installed it again on volume 1, but I now had the movies showing but their thumbnails were blank.

Then I remembered that yesterday I'd moved the video shared folder to volume 3. The volume 2 HDD is dying so I moved all shared folders to volume 3 and forgot to add volume 3 to jellyfin's Movie library.

After I added "/volume3/video/Movies" to the Movie library and deleted "/volume1/video/Movies" from the Movie library I clicked on "Scan All Libraries" and it's all working again.

I will try to answer:

I dont use Jellyfin scraper at all. All the nfo files and pictures are located within the folders with the media files itself.
I have huge amount of video files, it would end in a mess, when i would try to use another scraper.
I use TMM (TinyMediaManager) to create the nfo files for all new files I add manually.

I dont have the media files on same volume as Jellyfin. Jellyfin is installed on volume1, but my mediafiles are on volume2, volume3 and volume4.

But however, Jellyfin creates his own database based on the nfo files.
It would not be useable, without index from jellyfin itself. And this database is located on volume1.

The last weeks I had too much work to do, so I did not spend any time on this problem.
But after an DSM Update it refused to start the NAS with the NVMe SSD. I had to put it out.

Since I still need more space and dont have any free bays in the NAS anymore, I am thinking about installing Jellyfin on some external Computer, where I can add Harddrives like I want and not be limited to NAS bays. So, if I find some useable solution, I wont run Jellyfin on the NAS anymore and this will also solve this problem.

Das sollte kein Problem sein. Mein Jellyfin läuft auf Proxmox und meine Filme liegen auf dem NAS. Funktioniert prima und sollte auch bei dir gehen.

Mein Problem ist nicht ob Jellyfin auf dem NAS oder extern (oder einer VM oder Docker) läuft, sondern die begrenzten HDD Slots. Ich bin voll bis oben und meine kleinste Platten sind 14TB. Wenn ich diese gegen größere tausche, kostet mich das immens viel und die entfernten 14TB muss ich dabei aber noch abziehen. Das rechnet sich einfach nicht. Wenn ich einen kleinen Rechner extern danebenstelle mit beliebigen HDD Slots, kann ich dazu hängen wie ich möchte ohne was entfernen zu müssen. Das kommt am Ende günstiger und ist flexibler in der Zukunft.

Dann hatte ich dich falsch verstanden. Ich hatte aus dem zitiertem Satz aus meinem Post #24 / deinem Post #23 falsch interpretiert bzw. den Rest nicht komplett bzw. zu ungenau gelesen.
