Hallo,

wir nutzen den E-Mail-Server auf einer DS 214, um von unserem Kyocera-Drucker Scans per Mail zu verschicken.
Der Drucker kann nicht direkt über den Provider versenden, weil er nur über Port 25 senden kann, was der Provider nicht zulässt, hier ist eine verschlüsselte Verbindung (port 587) erforderlich.
Abhilfe brachte die Nutzung des E-Mail-Servers als smtp-relais (also nur für den Versand von Mails). Bis Mitte September hat das funktioniert, aber seitdem geht der Versand nicht mehr. Ich vermute, es liegt an einem Update auf der Diskstation.
Zunächst konnte sich der Drucker auch nicht mit der Diskstation verbinden. Nach Deinstallation und Neuinstallation von E-Mail-Server und Mailstation gibt es dort nun keine Probleme mehr. Auch der Versand von Mail über die Mailstation (allerdings mit separate dort eingerichtetem smtp-server) funktioniert.
Nur der Versand direkt vom Drucker funktioniert nicht.

Hat jemand eine Idee dazu?

der Provider lässt Port 25 schon zu, sonst könnte man an diesen Server keinerlei Mails von aussen schicken. Was der Provider nicht erlaubt ist die SMTP-Authentifizierung auf Port 25. Die brauchst du aber u.U. überhaupt nicht. Dein Drucker könnte direkt an eine Emailadresse senden für die sich der Server des Providers zuständig fühlt (z.B. deine Adresse beim Provider). Das ginge auch ohne Authentifizierung.

Im Router mal geschaut. AVM hat zum Beispiel ja dem Port 25 gesperrt in den FritzBoxen (ich glaube per Default, bin mir da aber nicht ganz sicher).

Die Telekom Speedports haben eine Filterliste für SMTP server (ausgehend), bei der Fritte ist mir das nicht aufgefallen.
Interessant könnte das sein, wenn die Anfrage via Loopback läuft. Andernfalls spielen die Port(freigaben) im Router ja keine Rolle.
Geht der Kyocera über die IP der DS zum Mailserver, oder wie ist das genau eingerichtet?

Aus der FritzBox 7490 (FritzOS 6.69):

X E-Mail-Filter über Port 25 aktiv
Dieser Filter sperrt den E-Mail-Versand über den ungesicherten Port 25. Aktivieren Sie diesen Filter, um ungesicherten E-Mail-Versand (beispielsweise durch Schadprogramme auf Geräten im Heimnetz) zu blockieren. Nutzen Sie nur sichere E-Mail-Server, wenn Sie diesen Filter verwenden möchten.

Das ist aber standardmäßig nicht aktiviert.
Zum Überprüfen:
Internet ==> Filter ==> Listen ==> Abschnitt "Globale Filtereinstellungen"

Das gibt es auch bei unserer FritzBox. Ist aber ausgeschaltet. Und dürft nicht relevant sein, weil von der Fritzbox aus ja nicht mit Hilfe von port 25 nach außen kommuniziert wird.
Der Kontakt zwischen dem E-Mailserver auf der DS und dem Kyocera funktioniert ja auch ("Verbindungstest" beim Kyocera erfolgreich).

Es läuft so:
-Kyocera hängt am Switch, ebenso wie die DS und die Fritzbox.
-Kyocera authentifiziert sich am E-Mail-Server der DS (SMTP via Port 25) (dass das funktioniert, lässt der erfolgreiche "Verbindungstest" am Drucker vermuten)
-DS sollte sich nun via smtp-Mailrelais bei unserem Provider authentifizieren (smtp via port 587) und die vom Kyocera eingelieferte Mail "durchleiten". Das schlägt offenbar fehl.

aber: dass der Mailserver in der Lage ist, Mails zu versenden, zeigt das Beispiel einer mit webstation erfolgreich versandten Mail (SMTP-Authentifizierung über port 487 mit den gleichen Zugangsdaten wie das smtp-Mailrelais. Der zu verwendende SMTP-Server des Providers ist dort (webstation) allerdings nochmal separat eingetragen worden.
Ich vermute, dass es irgendwie mit dem smtp-Mailrelais zu tun hat. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit, entsprechende log-Dateien abzurufen?!

wieso sollte es ohne smtp Auth nicht gehen? Auth verlangt ein Server nur wenn er selber nicht zuständig für die Empfangsdomain ist (d.h. ein Relay). Dein Drucker soll an deine Adresse schicken. Dazu macht das Gerät einen MX Lookup für die Empfangsdomain und bekommt damit die zuständigen Server. Dann verbindet er sich tu diesen und übergibt die Email

Hallo zusammen,
nach Monaten besteht das Problem leider immer noch, keine Mail von unserem Drucker über den Mail-Relay an externe Empfänger.

Hintergrund:
Unser Kyocera-Drucker schafft es seit ein paar Jahren nicht mehr, sich direkt über port 25 am smtp-Server zu authentifizieren. Der Provider (1und1) lässt das nicht zu.
(@jahlives: das auch nicht, wenn ich an eine Mail beim selben Provider sende)

Daher hatten wir unsere Diskstation als Mail-Relay konfiguriert:
-Drucker authentifiziert sich am E-Mail-Server der DS (SMTP via Port 25)
-DS authentifiziert sich via smtp-Mailrelais bei unserem Provider (smtp via port 587) und leitet die vom Drucker eingelieferte Mail durch.

Jetzt geht das aber irgendwie nicht mehr:
-Drucker authentifiziert sich weiterhin am E-Mail-Server der DS (SMTP via Port 25) (dass das funktioniert, lässt der erfolgreiche "Verbindungstest" am Drucker vermuten)
-DS sollte sich nun via smtp-Mailrelais bei unserem Provider authentifizieren (smtp via port 587) und die vom Kyocera eingelieferte Mail "durchleiten". Das schlägt offenbar fehl.

Was funktioniert:
-Der Mailserver kann Status-Berichte senden, und sich dazu auch mit der Mailadresse, die auch als Mail-Relay-Authentifizierung dienen soll, beim Provider authentifizieren

Hat zu diesem Problem noch jemand eine Idee?

Hi,

für mich sieht das so aus, als ob die DS und der Drucker nicht im selben IP-Bereich liegen. Prüfe mal die IP-Adressen von der DS, die vom Drucker steht ja im Log. Die IP-Adresse der DS müsste auf 192.168.100.xxx lauten. Standard bei der Fritzbox ist ja der IP-Bereich 192.168.178.xxx. Die IP-Adressen sollten sich bei den Geräten nur an der letzten Stelle unterscheiden.
Alternativ kannst Du die main.cf-Datei (z.B. Parameter: "mynetworks = 127.0.0.0/8 192.168.178.0/24 192.168.100.0/24") anpassen, damit die DS auch SMTP-Anfragen aus anderen IP-Bereichen annimmt.

habe alles geprüft. Beide Geräte liegen mit gleicher Subnetzmaske im selben IP-Bereich.
Ich könnte den Mail-Server deinstallieren, auch die Einstellungsdaten, und dann nochmal neu installieren. Meinst Du, das könnte was bringen?

Hallo,

ob eine Neuinstallation viel bringt, weiss ich nicht. Im Moment habe ich keine gute Idee.

Eine weitere Möglichkeit ist das Protokoll (Maillog) zu erweitern um vieleicht erkennen zu können, was nicht klappt.
Dazu die Datei "master.cf" (unter /var/packages/MailServer/target/etc/) wie folgt ändern:

Zeile (Orginal):
25 inet n - n - - smtpd
Zeile (neu):
25 inet n - n - - smtpd -v

Danach postfix beenden und neu starten (über die Console):
/var/packages/MailServer/target/sbin/postfix stop
/var/packages/MailServer/target/sbin/postfix start

Danach nochmal einen Versuch mit dem Mailversand starten und im Maillog schauen. Dort sollte jetzt einiges mehr stehen beim Versuch eine E-Mail zu versenden.

(Nach einem Neustart der DS ist wieder alles beim alten - oder das "-v" wieder entfernen und postfix stoppen/starten).
