The conversion of the data from 0.2.7 data 0.4.x is done by the Baikal software, but seems to be cumbersome. I would not recommend upgrading. /Erik

Not sure. The new MailServer looks much better than Roundcube. Disappointing: still no CardDAV connection. Anyway, I am still on DSM 5.2 and will not upgrade to 6.0 on short term. At least until then no update from my side. Best regards, Erik

There are a few enthousiastic pepole working on new Baikal releases. Main benefits will be an update of the SabreDav software and bugfixes. I will update the Synology package in due time, when the Baikal software is stable again. /Erik

Some external POP3 servers have the option to remove the e-mails after e.g. 2 days. For this, on Mail Station, you would select to keep the e-mails on the external server. /Erik

Chapter 8 of the manual describes how to backup the Baïkal database. When you use MariaDB, the database backup is in ..../@app/@mysql/baikal.sql.gz

Assuming that the already donwloaded e-mails can be accesses with an e-mail client (Outlook, eM Client, whatever) on your PC: Connect this e-mail client with Synology Mail Server using IMAP, and move the local e-mails to the server. That's all. /Erik
