To give some more explanation what the title is stating:
I've allowed to start my DS214+ by a WoL on LAN1. If I do send a WoL - via the DS finder app - then the DS normally starts. That's fine.
At some time after that I'm shutting the DS down again, through DSM (DSM 4.3-3810 Update 4), but ... it immediately auto-reboots and stays
there with a blinking blue LED. I cannot do anything (no web access, no ssh) but a ping. The only way to come back is to hard un-plug the DS, re-plug and push the start button ... I'm not quite happy about this :(
Is there anybody out there observing similar things ?
Is there anybody out there who could try out this on his DS214+ ?

I've a colleague with a "standard" DS214 (without +) ... there it seems to be fine.

I already contact the synology support. I provided them a diagnostics debug.dat and also a system log. But nothing about failures or halts is
indicated. The system log does not contain any messages during this auto-reboot/halt.

Is there some "magic packet" floating around maybe?
Is there a way to access the "bios" and do any modifications for the ACPI ?

Thanks in advance for any response and help.

I did several shutdowns through DSM 4.3-3810 Update 4 and didn't encounter your problem on my 214+.

The shutdown is not the cause of my reboot problem.
The point is the wake-on-lan before the shutdown.

If I power the DS by the power button and shutting it down through web, everything's fine.

But not if it is started by a wake-on-lan!

Did you started it by WoL before each shutdown ?

Not before each shutdown but for several times yes. It always worked flawlessly. The DS went down and remained there until the DSM-schedule woke it up again in the following morning.

Note: the DSM schedule for waking up the DS in the morning is not the same as the wake-on-lan!!!

DSM scheduling is performed by a "process" within the DS. The wake-on-LAN is done over the network through an external tool. In my case the iOS app DS finder.

Are you sure we're talking about wake-on-lam?

I suppose dil88 did start the DS using WOL but after shutdown then the DS remains in power-off state until the schedule wakes it up again.

Thanks Puppetmaster for making clear what I wanted to say. I answered directly to the last question of the TO: "Did you started it by WoL before each shutdown ?"

Ok, many thanks.
It seems as if I would have to contact my vendor to exchange my DS, which means some work to copy everything off the DS before sending back:(
Btw: what systems are you using for connecting to the DS?
Are you auto-mounting some shared folders?
I'm basically running two Macs with auto-mounting (samba) to the DS at login.
Not sure if this might have impacts

I'm auto-mounting several shared folders using CIFS (samba) onto two Windows PC's and a sat-receiver using a special Linux.
