Hilfe: Erfahrungen mit dem Programm Personal Backup - Fehler beim restore

seit vielen Jahren benutze ich Personal backup-Programm regelmäßig. Das letzte RESTORE vor einigen jahren, ich weiss nicht mehr mit welcher Version, klappte gut.
Leider habe ich jetzt mit der neuesten Version pb-setup-x64-5.8.0201 eine Pleite beim zurückspeichern erlebt.
Ich hatte eine Speicherkarte meines Notebooks gesichert, neu formatiert, 7808 Dateien gesichert. Die Sicherung wurde als fehlerlos protokolliert.
Im Sicherungsverzeichnis LwD sind sämtliche Dateien als PB-Zip...zip an der richtigen Stelle gespeichert.
Beim Zurückspeichern werden die Verzeichnisse wieder korrekt angelegt.

Aber die dahinein gehörigen Dateien erscheinen eine Verzeichnisstufe darüber, vor dem Namen der Datei steht aber der Name des Unterverzeichnisses, in das die Datei eigentlich gehört.

Alle Dateien, deren Name mit "Downloads" beginnt, gehören z.B. in das Verzeichnis \Downloads ! In diesem stehen statt dessen die Dateien der entsprechenden Unterverzeichnisse:

Meiner Frau ist es übrigens vor einigen Monaten, noch mit einer älteren Version ähnlich gegangen. Sie benutzt es seitdem nicht mehr.

Da ich nun nicht tausende Dateien von Hand umbenennen und verscheiben will, bitte ich hier dringend um einen Rat, wie man das hinbekommen kann.
Der Fehler liegt vielleicht in meinen Einstellungen, aber scheint nicht ganz seiten vorzukommen.
Falls es nicht mehr mit Persbackup geht - ich kann mich erinnern, dass man das in UNIX auch mit einer Batch-Datei machen kann.
Aber das wäre sehr kompliziert - Verzeichnisnamen in einer Variablen speichern und von den Dateinamen string-subtrahieren, dann die Datzeien umbenennen u.s.w.

Wer weiß Rat ?

Der Autor des Programms hat erfreulicherweise schnell geantwortet:
"bei einer Sicherung als Zip-Dateien pro Verzeichnis gibt es beim Restore folgenden Fehler: Es fehlt im Dateinamen das "\"-Zeichen hinter dem Pfad. Ich werde das im nächsten Update korrigieren.
In der Version 5.6 müsste das noch richtig funktioniert haben."
