DDNS Updater Namecheap update error message

I installed the DDNS Updater last week on my Synology DS1512+ and registered for the Namecheap DDNS service. All went well with the install and the Updater was communicating with Namecheap correctly.

Today, I installed an SSL Cert for my domain on the DS1512 and rebooted. After the reboot I am getting an error in the DDNS Update control panel.

Can you provide some insight into this issue?

Notice in the screen shot the date field seems oddly incorrect

you have a domain on your ds or at namecheap? is the option "ssl" in options grayed out?

I have my domain at GoDaddy but my name servers are pointing to Namecheap for Dynamic DNS service. Yes the ssl option is greyed out (here is a picture of the options screen. My log is also attached

It seems there is an issue with your domain / namecheap settings after updating your domain with a ssl cert. The error "A record not Found" indicates a missing A record, please check this first.

Please read here or contact the support of namecheap to check the settings.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction, the A record was ok, but I needed to change the host name in DDNS Updater from @ to www. It is working ok now.

A couple of questions:

Is it ok to leave the check interval at 5 minutes, i assume this is just checking the ip address using an internally coded url?

Is there or are you planning a feature that would provide a notification of an IP change or failure of the software to update the server?

Yes, ddns updater have some urls for checking of your current public ip. if your ip changed not very often or not at all, you can set it to a higher value.

As of ddns updater 1.21 there are a 2 settings in ddclient.config to control the dsm notifications. If they are not available in the top area of your ddclient.config, then you can write in it and adjust itself. You can find the ddclient.config in /usr/syno/synoman/webman/3rdparty/ddnsupdater/, pls use a linux compatible editor with correct line endings.
notify=@administrators = for all messages in your log, update etc.
notify-failure=@administrators = for errors only

example:

file=/tmp/cache/ddclient/ddclient.conf
cache=/tmp/cache/ddclient/ddclient.cache

the value on the right are the recipients, groups have a @ in front of the name, each recipient is devided by a comma. disable a entry put a # in front of it e.g. #notify=@administrators
By default, the alert for all messages is deactivated, which is too much else
