DDNS Updater ddns updater for OVH provider

Hi Qtip,

I am sorry I need to post in English, because my dutch is tooo bad

I have found the ddnsupdater 1-19 which I installed together with Init_thirdparty 1.5, thinking I could find my dns provided OVH for which I have 2 domains registered, which I'd like both to update with my public IP.

Unfortunately, I can not find OVH in the list of provideds in your app, just "custom provider", but I do not know the parameters to set for this custom pvovider.
So far, I have used the workaround to edit the "/etc.defaults/ ddns_provider.conf " and add the following lines :
[ovh.com]
modulepath=DynDNS
queryurl=www.ovh.com/nic/update?hostname=__HOSTNAME__&myip=__MYIP__&system=dyndns&wildcard=NOCHG&mx=NOCHG&backmx=NOCHG

... and it was working fine, but I now have 2 domains to update by OVH, and I'd like to use your tool, so :

1. can you please let me know if OVH support can be added : https://www.ovh.com/fr/index.xml
2. can you please let me know the custom parameters to set for this provider (protocol, server, wildcard, wait times, ...

Hi fa355115, the site use the protocol "dyndns2", i can support this in the next release

the site use the "dyndns2" protocol, so make the following steps in ddns updater:

• Add new host, select custom provider
• in field "Protocol" put "dyndns2"
• in field "Server" put "www.ovh.com"
• in field "Hostname" put your hostname
• in field "Login" put your login of the manager
• in field "Password" and "Confirm password" put your password for the manager

you must do this steps again for your second host
this should work, but i can not test

1. I have dsm 3.x. and wondering if the "help" package is necessary / mandatory ? (Init_3rdpartyHelp_1.10.spk )
So I understand I first need to install "Init_3rdparty_1.5.spk" then "ddnsupdater_1.19.spk" ?

2. Is there a way I can be automatically informed when next release is .... released ?

the helpfile for ddns updater in dsm 3.x require the package "Init_3rdparty_1.5.spk", so install in the following order:

• install Init_3rdparty_1.5.spk and start package, after a few seconds refresh the browser
• install Init_3rdPartyHelp_1.10.spk and start, then delete the browser cache or restart the browser. If this not help, just restart the DS.
• install DDNS updater

DSM 4.x installation sequence:

• install Init_3rdparty_1.5.spk and start package, after a few seconds refresh the browser
• install DDNS updater

You can add the package-source to your package center, the url is: http://update.10trum.de/packageupdate/getpackages.php . You get a complete list of avaiable package-sources in our wiki at http://www.synology-wiki.de/index.php/Paketzentrum_Quellen
If a update is available, the you get a dsm notification and see a button "update" in the package center near the ddns updater package entry

ok - I have some tim to look at that now.

Just have a quesiton concerning the "help" package.
Last time I only installed "Init_3rdparty_1.5.spk" and "ddnsupdater_1.19.spk", without the help package.
I have found this help package called "Init_3rdpartyHelp_1.1.spk" (by the way, filename says 1.1, but should be 1.10, no ?? - http://package.10trum.de/index.php?id=40&pid=5), but I am not sure I need to install it as such, because I found this post totally unreadable which seem to ask doing additional things ?

Red Letters means:

starting up from DSM 3.x and higher versions you have to add the additional package called Init_3rdpartyHelp_1.10.spk and execute it.

don´t ask me what it does exactly but the programmer QTip will tell you more for shure.

I have upgraded my DSM to version 4.0.2197.
I have seen in this version, under "Packages" that ddns was part of the "Other sources" packages. I guess it is because I have added "http://update.10trum.de/packageupdate/getpackages.php " as other potential sources ?

So I have installed your packages from there, meaning :

1. init-thirdparty version 1.5
2. ddns updater version 1.19

I have forgot to install the help package - not sure if it is of any use for me ? Is it mandatory ?

normally, I will be notified when a new version is installed.
I have set the parameters as stated above for OVH, and this is working fine.
Do you know when OVH will be part of the "providers" in a next release ?
